The Photonic Materials Research Laboratory at the department of physics of the University of Tehran, established in 2004, aims to advance experimental and theoretical studies about the interaction of light with photosensitive materials and layers at the nanometer scale.
Our research activities concentrate on the two main areas of nano-photonics and plasmonic photonic materials. A common feature of these efforts is that we typically study materials that include metallic nanoparticles, mainly silver. The challenge that we take upon ourselves is to conceive projects and develop measurement methods that help us obtain a quantitative
understanding of these complex systems and their applications.

Equipment: He-Ne Laser, Diode-pumped Nd-YAG laser, Spectrometer, Electrical Oven, Optical Microscope, Optical components and mounts, CCDs, detector, pneumatic tables, HV power supply, Oscilloscope.
