Optics Research Lab: Several optical metrology techniques, including, interferometry, Fresnel diffractometry, bright & dark field microscopy, phase imaging, Moire technique, Digital Speckle Pattern Shearing Interferometry (DSPSI), etc. are employed in this lab to characterize the physical properties of materials or light sources.

Equipment: Laser sources (HeNe, Nd-YaG, Nitrogen, diode), regular and fast CCD imaging sensors, interfering microscope, phase contrast microscope, stable optical tables, optical and opto-mechanical components, etc.
