The main activity of the plasma research laboratory is devoted to the plasma conversion of natural gas for valuable products. We have recently introduced two new plasma types, i.e.gliding spark and parallel electrodes gliding plasmas, both have shown to be effective in the gas conversion process.

Equipment:  The main facilities include: Gas chromatograph (Varian-380 P) that comprises TCD- FID ( capable of analysis up to 10 ppm level) and PFPD ( with ppb capability of analysis) channels for gas analysis, hydrogen, and purified air generator (with grade 5 of purity), high voltage probe (Techtronics), current probe (Pearson), 50 KV-500 mA power supply, Four channel digital Techtronics oscilloscope (500 MHz, 5 GS/S), homemade pulsed carbon dioxide laser (1.5 J), and different pulsed plasma reactors.
